The Social Sciences Computing Facility (SSCF) offers a shared computing infrastructure and standard policies to all departments and programs in the School of Social Sciences.

Services include:

  • Data storage for business offices and research, including 5tb of free backed-up file storage for each faculty member
  • Operating a compute cluster which is freely available to all school affiliates
  • Provisioning virtual machines to host business and research applications
  • Advising on IT infrastructure for research (both proposed and funded) and data handling sign-offs with IRB and funding agencies
  • Desktop support for faculty, staff and graduate students
  • Advising all affiliates on purchase, and we pay for and provide desktop and laptop computers to business office staff
  • Security support and consulting for all students, faculty and staff affiliated with the school
