Ethnic Studies Associate-In Instructor Application – for the Academic Year 2019-20

 

This employment opportunity is solely for eligible Ethnic Studies Ph.D. graduate students. Applicants must have advanced to candidacy prior to the application deadline.

Before you begin, you should be prepared to answer the following information and documents:

  1. Name
  2. PID
  3. Email
  4. Phone Number
  5. Date you advanced to candidacy
  6. Date you completed TA training with Center for Teaching Development
  7. Course Number/ Title/ Quarter of courses you have taught in the past as an Associate-In (including Summer Session courses)
  8. Dissertation title or topic
  9. Committee Chair
  10. Committee Chair's email address
  11. Whom will you choose as your Faculty Mentor for teaching an ETHN course?
  12. List your previous Teaching Assistant appointments (Quarter and Course number).
  13. Select up to 6 ETHN courses from the Google Form Application that you are interested in teaching in 2019-2020. This list changes annually based on the course availibity and other ETHN courses already assigned to Ethnic Studies faculty.
  14. List those 6 courses in order of preference.

You should also prepare the following documents ahead of time to upload and submit in the Google Form Applications as separate PDF files:

  1. Curriculum Vitae or Resume
  2. Dissertation abstract or proposed summary of dissertation
  3. Statement briefly describing your expertise to teach each of the proposed courses from questions 13.
  4. Statement describing your teaching experience and philosophy.
