Research Interests:

16th & 17th century texts and historiographic approaches to the rise of modernity and visual culture, particularly with regard to the gendered politics of travel narratives in the colonial period, racialized and sexualized ideologies of African and Indigenous bodies in colonial texts, as well as indigenous responses to colonists' views; contemporary Chicana studies; feminisms; and indigenous studies.
